From the moment he entered the room, he knew. He surveyed the room and then it happened. He gaze met hers. He felt something he never felt before. Could this be that feeling? That moment?
A lot of people have always believed in love in first sight. The eyes of another person giving the confirmation of the heart’s desire.
We are always looking into the eyes of others. We are seeking approval. Maybe not from that “special someone” but maybe from friends, parents, co-workers, bosses. The gaze of approval is so important to us that it affects how we dress, how we talk, who we interact and spend our time with. Eyes seem to change our entire life.
But we have missed it. We are looking into the eyes of others when God himself is looking down lovingly on us. The Creator of love wants nothing more than to give you His approval, His support, His love, but we are too busy looking elsewhere that we miss it.
God wants nothing more to comfort and protect us. When our eyes are heavy, when our agony is consuming, God yearns to give us peace. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
The eyes of the world can show many emotions, some that warm our heart and some that break it, but look into the eyes of God and find acceptance. Look into the eyes of God and find approval, find purpose, find hope.
