Have you ever been “shocked” when you touched the door knob?  Or when a friend rubs their feet on the carpet in order to make you jump from that little electric shock?  Static electricity made childhood so much better!  I loved bugging my sister with the magical powers of static electricity.

Do you know how static electricity occurs?  (sorry for the quick science lesson, but bear with me)  When you slide your socks over the carpet, loose electrons are broken off of the carpet and cling to the atoms on your socks adding excess charge to your body.  The electrons you rub your socks on make you electric.

The friends you rub life with make you who you are.  Who are you letting influence you?  The people you let close to you in your life, shape what your future looks like.

Honestly, how many times have you heard this: “She is a good person.  She just got mixed up in the wrong crowd.”?  The Bible puts it this way in 1 Corinthians 15:33, “Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’”  So to put it simply, if you rub your life against negative people, then your life is going to become negatively charged.

But the same is true of the opposite.  If you rub your life against powerful godly relationships then your life will become positively charged!  So ask yourself, how are you being charged by your relationships now?  Is it time for a change?
