Quake

The ground moves beneath your feet.  The walls shake.  The earth splits and the very floor you once stood on sure footed and stable now writhes and groans as it attempts to drop you to your knees.

You know what it is.  It is the war we all fight.  It is the powerful attack of the enemy.  It is the stress Satan sends to devour.  It is the quake.

I have always tried to be stability in people’s lives.  I want to be the guy that is just a phone call away when friend’s are lost.  The dependable man that allows people to cling to hope when it seems hopeless, but I would be lying if I didn’t admit that at times my world quakes as well.

There are the times that disappointment grasps my heart.  Discouragement tries to sneak into my heart.  We all need an anchor to cling to.

In Psalm 75:3 God says, “When the earth and all its people quake, it is I who hold its pillars firm.”

When you feel your world shaking.  When you don’t know what to trust.  When stress and fear grip your soul.  Cling to God.  Trust Him.  How can you control your life when you are shaking too?  Let God be God.  Realize that holding on to Him is the only hope you have of getting through the quake of your life whole.
