My parents have been married forever!  haha since before I was born which is well over 20 years now.  They are 2 of the strongest most God fearing amazing people on the face of the planet, and they are madly in love.  They still hold hands and say goofy cute stuff to each other.  That is so rare in today’s society.  Over half of marriages end in divorce, but why?  Because too often we become confused on what love is.

People start to think that love is the feeling they get when they are with someone.  That is a dangerous idea.  If love is an emotion than there is nothing to make it last.  Our heart is misleading.  When we live on how our heart feels then our world becomes broken when it does.  Unfortunately love would go away with our caffeine rush if it were an emotion.

But love is so much more than that!  Love is not an emotion it is a commitment.  It lasts beyond his socks on the floor or her watching the oxygen network.  Love only lasts when it is more than a heart beat, it has to be the reason you live.

Unfortunately, we keep divorcing God.  We love Him when it feels good, when the worship songs are loud and everyone around us loves Him but as soon as we leave church we don’t take the time to read our Bible or live a life that reflects His light.  It all comes back to love being a commitment, not an emotion.  When you’re in love your life shows it.  When you say you love God: do you love Him or just feel like you do?
