Busy

It has been weeks since my last blog.  Why?  Because I got busy.  It’s funny to me how we use that as an excuse for a lot of things in our lives.  We say it to explain why we haven’t hung with certain friends for awhile.  We say it when our boss notices we missed something they asked us to do at work.  But worst of all we say it when it comes to God.

Too often, I explain away my missed bible reading or prayer time to being too busy.  The sad thing is that this shows my priorities.  In my life, I place all those other things before my relationship with God.  Even though friends, work, sleep, school, basketball, are all good things, they are not more important that my relationship with God.

Your growth in God is only dependent on one person, you.  If you don’t feel close to God there is only one person at fault.  Do you wonder why you don’t feel you can hear the voice of God?  Have you been reading His word?  Do you wonder why you haven’t made strong Christian relationships?  Are you spending time with the Body of Christ?

Many of us say we love God but are we really showing it?  Matthew 22:37 says, “Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”  That means we need to love God with everything that we are.  Are you giving God your all or all you feel like giving?
