Father

I have the best father on the planet.  When I was little, we were inseparable.  I was always with him.  When we would walk somewhere, he would hold my hand so when I tripped he could hold me up.  When I woke up and some obnoxiously early hour of the morning to watch cartoons, he never complained.  He would always come and watch with me.  My dad loves me with all his heart and would do anything to protect me.

It is such a cool picture of how much God loves us.  The Bible is loaded full of imagery where God is compared to a father caring for his children, us.  It is perfect because just like any child with their parents, we can be brats.  We pitch fits when things aren’t exactly how we want them, we scream that we hate them when we are angry, we try to sneak around so we can do those things we shouldn’t without them catching us.  With God we do the same things: we get angry with Him, we scream at Him, we try to hide from Him.  The best thing about God that is that even after we do those things, He still loves us and holds us when we come back to Him.  God never will give up on us.  He loves us like a father with a small child.  He will care and protect us when we come into His arms.
