Truth

John 14:6 - “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Lies.  Deceit. Deception.  I feel that our world is saturated in it all.  Television tells us that we “need” every single product the commercials advertise.  Magazines tell us that we “need” to look more like the people that fill their pages.  People tell us that we “need” to have sex to feel love, or drink to wash away our pain.  We are told what we need, but those things never seem to complete us.  They are not what we need.

What we need is Jesus.  There is a hole, a void, in the center of our hearts.  The world tells us to fill it with pride, vanity, acceptance, drugs, sex, alcohol, but it neglects to tell you that those things only make the hole feel even bigger.  The big lie is that there is only one thing that can fill our lives, and that thing is Jesus.  The void in our hearts is God-shaped and the only thing that can fill it is God.

As a race, humanity seems never to be satisfied, always hunger, always scavenging for more food, entertainment, acceptance, attention.  It would make sense that the only thing that could appease us would be the one that is too vast for us to comprehend.

In the stormy sea of deception, Jesus is our lighthouse.  When we live a life devoid of truth, we can never truly know who we are.  Jesus wants to bring light and truth, and show us our full potential.  Don’t keep living a lie.  Live in truth.  Live in Him.
