Pain

Tonight, some one that God has placed in my life shared their heart with me.  They showed me their struggle and the pain they were experiencing.  It was heart breaking.  When I see the pain in those I care about, I want to ask God why.  It is a normal reaction to question and doubt God when there is agony in our lives, but there are 2 things we must remember when we encounter hard times:

1. God loves us and wants the best for us.  God loves us more than anyone ever could.  More than our parents, friends, romantic interests, anyone.  When hard times come, God will take the situation, no matter how horrible, and work it out for good. (Romans 8:28) Also, in Jeremiah 29:11, we are told that God has plans to prosper us not to harm us.  God wants so much to see us grow closer to Him and live a full life.  He wants freedom not bondage.  Joy not pain.  He is our father in heaven and He holds our hand our entire life. (Psalm 37:24)

2. Pain comes from Satan, not God.  James 1:17 tells us that all good things come from God.  So it is safe to say that all bad things come from the Enemy.  When we are chasing God and claiming lives in the name of Christ, the Devil will attack.  It is almost a backhanded compliment.  When we experience trial, it is generally because we are doing well in our walk with God.

So when the pain comes, don’t blame God, instead run to God.  He is where we will find peace and refuge.  Sometimes life does not always make sense, but comfort can always be found in the arms of God.
